Current Role Working With The Athletic Population
I work with local crossfit gyms in my area by keeping their athletes injury free. I utilize a sophisticated form of neurological muscle testing to assess the weakness in the kinetic chain and then address that issue with soft tissue treatments and strengthening exercises to maintain that neurological pathway. Clients learn how to take care and prevent their issues through education during their sessions with me. I do workshops at local gyms on breathing and bracing, taking care of your shoulders and teach gymnastic clinics. I have also started online and remote coaching for some of my clients and am in the process of creating a coaches course to teach at all my local crossfit gyms for coaches who want to step up their game with assessing their athletes. I work with local golfers, olympic weightlifters and equestrian riders. Basically anybody who wants to return to sport or activity especially after being discharged from PT.
We must keep the "container safe" in regards to how we treat the person. The nervous system will respond to whatever input you give it, providing the space remains safe. I use movement as a benchmark for neurological response and by muscle testing the nervous system, we can assess how your nervous system responds to input.
I played sports all through childhood, up until college and now. I was a fast pitch pitcher, played basketball, volleyball, ran a marathon and a few half marathons, did some bodybuilding until I found cross fit in 2013. I am a competitive masters cross fit athlete and have ranked highly in the past few opens and hope to get into that top 200!
Academic Background and Professional Training
I have been practicing for over 22 years and am a dynamic clinician who utilizes a full body holistic approach to healing and restoring functional movement. I work with high school and college athletes, Pro and Semi Pro athletes, Cross Fitters, Powerlifters and Olympic Weightlifters in the area and I am able to achieve optimal results in limited time. I can address pain and restrictions in the body brought on by injury, postural deficits, stress and poor movement patterns utilizing a system of functional neurology to pinpoint the root cause of muscle dysfunction. Clients leave with little to no pain and improved mobility and a knowledge of their bodies and how to take charge of their own health and well being. I use a vast network of PT’s, Chiropractors, Doctors and Functional Medicine Doctors at hand to help with clients overall wellness.
